Who We Are

Pesona Wira

Pesona Wira began in 2009 in a small workshop in Petaling Jaya, founded by Encik Haris Sulaiman — a watchmaker who trained in Switzerland before returning to the Klang Valley with the intention of bringing considered horological care to Malaysian watch owners.

The name carries a deliberate sentiment: pesona speaks to the quiet allure of a well-made object; wira to the discipline required to maintain it. Both elements describe what we believe a mechanical timepiece deserves — admiration and dedicated attention in equal measure.

Over the years, the workshop has developed long-standing relationships with owners of mechanical timepieces across the Klang Valley and beyond. We do not operate on volume. Each intake is assessed with the same care as the last.

Our Mission

Thoughtful work, nothing hurried

We believe the value of a mechanical watch lies not only in its materials or provenance, but in its continuity — the fact that it has run, been worn, and been handed down. Our role is to support that continuity through work that is careful and documented.

We do not make decisions on behalf of our clients. When a choice presents itself — whether to refinish, replace, or preserve — we stop and ask. The watch belongs to you; the judgment should be yours.

"The work is done when the watch is accurate, reliable, and returned to its owner with a clear account of what was done and why."

— Encik Haris Sulaiman, Founder

Standards

How we work

Intake documentation

Every watch enters with a written intake record noting rate, amplitude, beat error, and any observations from the owner. This forms the basis for all subsequent work.

Magnification inspection

Each component is examined under magnification prior to cleaning and after reassembly. Wear beyond operating tolerance is noted and discussed with the owner.

Staged ultrasonic cleaning

We use horological-grade solvents in a staged ultrasonic process — different solutions for different component types and alloys, to avoid any chemical conflict.

Multi-day rate observation

After regulation, the movement runs for several days on timing equipment before the watch is considered ready for collection. We do not shorten this step.

Secure storage

Watches in our care are stored in a secure environment at all times. Handling is limited to the technicians assigned to each particular piece.

Photographic record

For the Comprehensive Programme, key stages of the work are photographed. These records are available to the owner and support any future service enquiries.

Watch care in the Klang Valley

For owners of mechanical and automatic timepieces in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya, finding a workshop that handles fine watches with appropriate patience has not always been straightforward. Pesona Wira was founded precisely to address that gap — a local, independent workshop where the watchmaker is present throughout the service, rather than delegating work to a rotation of technicians.

Our work spans the full range of mechanical servicing — from movement disassembly and regulated reassembly to bracelet refinishing and comprehensive case restoration. We handle both vintage and contemporary calibres, with particular experience in Swiss movements from the mid-twentieth century through to the present day.

The workshop is located in SS 2, Petaling Jaya — accessible from central Kuala Lumpur, Subang, Shah Alam, and Bangsar. We welcome walk-in visits during working hours and are happy to discuss a timepiece before any commitment is made.
