I brought in a Datejust that hadn't been serviced in over twelve years. The intake report alone was more thorough than anything I'd received from other workshops. Four weeks later it came back regulated to within a couple of seconds per day. The documentation of what was done is something I'll keep with the watch.

The bracelet on my Submariner had been uncomfortable for years — stretched to the point where it moved around on the wrist. After the bracelet service it sits properly again. The clasp action feels new. The work on the brushed and polished surfaces was careful — you can't tell where they worked unless you're looking for it.

I was a bit uncertain about leaving a family heirloom with anyone, but they were upfront about what would and wouldn't be done, and checked with me before anything was touched on the dial. Timeline was about five weeks — slightly longer than initially quoted, but they explained why and that was fine. The movement is running well.

I've used three other independent watchmakers in the Klang Valley over the years. Pesona Wira is the only one that gave me a written intake condition report before any work began. That matters when the watch is worth something to you — financially or otherwise. The regulation is solid and has held for three months since collection.

Bracelet service on my Aquanaut. The workshop is tidy and the watchmaker takes time to explain what he's found before doing anything. The refinishing followed the original finish zones very closely — the distinction between the matte and polished surfaces was preserved. Good work overall.

Sent in a vintage Longines with movement issues. They identified that one of the jewels was damaged during their inspection — something the previous service hadn't caught. They sourced a compatible part and asked before fitting it. The watch has been running consistently since. Worth every ringgit.

Service journeys in detail

Challenge

A 1972 Omega Constellation had not been serviced in an estimated fifteen years. The rate had become erratic — gaining as much as four minutes per day — and the bracelet clasp no longer held reliably.

Our Approach

Full disassembly of the cal. 565 movement revealed significant lubricant degradation and two worn pivot holes. Worn components were renewing with period-matched replacements. The bracelet clasp mechanism was rebuilt. Original case patina was preserved at the owner's request — no refinishing.

Outcome

Rate stabilised to within ±8 seconds per day across six positions. Bracelet clasp holds with proper tension. Total time: nine weeks. Owner noted the watch now wears as it did when first purchased.

"I'd almost given up on it ever running properly again. The report they gave me when I collected it told me exactly what had been done — I could follow every step."

Challenge

A contemporary steel sports watch acquired pre-owned with no service records. The movement was running but amplitude readings at intake were low, suggesting lubricant deterioration despite the watch appearing externally clean.

Our Approach

Service & Regulation Programme carried out in full. The amplitude improved markedly following cleaning and fresh lubrication. Sealing gaskets were also renewed during reassembly, as these are typically changed at each service interval regardless of apparent condition.

Outcome

Amplitude rose from 230° to 295° after service. Rate settled at +4 seconds per day across positions — within manufacturer tolerance. Total time: four weeks. Owner now has a baseline record for future service comparison.

"The difference in how the watch winds and how the seconds hand sweeps is noticeable. They explained what amplitude meant and why it mattered — I came away understanding my own watch better."

Challenge

A bi-metal gold and steel bracelet on a dress watch had accumulated years of surface scratching across both the brushed inner and polished outer links. The deployant clasp had also developed a noticeable wobble when fastened.

Our Approach

Bracelet Service with close attention to the boundary between gold and steel surfaces. Refinishing was carried out in stages using appropriate polishing media for each material. The deployant clasp spring was replaced; the folding mechanism was rebuilt and lubricated.

Outcome

Surface clarity restored on both metals with the material boundary clearly maintained. Deployant clasp opens and closes with positive action. Total time: three weeks. The owner commented that the bracelet looked better than when they had bought the watch new.

"I was worried the gold and steel surfaces would end up looking uniform after polishing — they didn't. You can clearly see where one metal ends and the other begins, which is how it should look."
